The second night of the opening weekend of 2018’s Loud In London festival has not one, but two indie legend headliners!
Headlining the live evening’s live stage is Republica. Dominating the charts in the Nineties, Republica are still going strong, touring and releasing new material. The band are best known for being one of the key proponents in the femme-Britpop scene along with Sleeper, Elastica, Garbage and Lush, or you may know them thanks to their hits being featured in over 300 films and adverts, including Scream. Not to mention their indie masterpiece hit single “Ready to Go” soaring to number one in eighteen countries!
Doing us the honour of headlining the night’s second stage is former Bluestone’s frontman, Mark Morriss. Mark fronted the Britpop hit makers for fifteen years, in which time they bagged themselves fourteen top ten singles and three top ten albums! Known best for the likes of “Slight Return”, “Bluetonic” and “Marblehead Johnson”, Mark decided to pursue a solo career, releasing his first album in 2008, and is also the lead guitarist in comedian Matt Berry’s band, The Maypoles.
With a ton of great up support and a nine weekends to follow, be Loud in London this summer!
