Things are feeling particularly good in the UK underground at the moment. Well, in all honesty, things are feeling pretty bleak, gritty and – at times – downright harrowing, but it’s all a solid indicator that the scene is in rude health. With a broad and storied history of churning out some of the gnarliest and most captivating underground artists of the past few decades, Torpor are the latest group to be flying the flag for all that is heavy.
A band that has a relentless style of slowly building songs that are very reminiscent of bands like Isis and Russian Circles but are also extremely heavy. Very cool and hypnotic.
